Notes

  • The ground beef gives a little bit of fat and boosts the flavor of the sauce. Also for some extra protein.
  • You can add some chopped bell peppers if you don't have the same brand of pasta sauce that I used in this recipe.
  • Make sure to add some sugar to balance the acidity of the pasta sauce. The sugar will also bring out the sweet flavor of the tomatoes.
  • Using dried herbs will really elevate the flavor of the pasta sauce.
  • Use a can of seasoned diced tomatoes because they are a lot more flavorful. The diced tomatoes will also add a chunky texture to the sauce.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese

Growing up in an Italian family, spaghetti was always on the menu. There are some really great tasting brands of spaghetti sauce on the shelves at the grocery store. By adding a few extra ingredients to the store bought sauce, it does make it taste better. Fresh Basil and Oregano makes the sauce pop. Thanks for this wonderful recipe.
